BVMA – Violin/Bow Making Workshop

The BVMA are delighted to offer this course to makers who will work on their own instruments or bows but are also happy to give some of their time to help with joint instruments which will be sold to help raise money to subsidise other short courses and provide bursaries to young members.

We will prioritise places for families with very young children to help enable makers stay connected to the trade during this busy time!  So bring your little ones along, there are large gardens and a relaxed atmosphere at Westhope College. For more information please e-mail bvmaadmin@gmail.com.

Mark Robinson and Kai Thomas-Roth will be overseeing the joint instrument making. Derek Wilson and Tim Baker will be overseeing the joint bow making.

16 places available - priority given to some who have worked hard to generate funds in the past.

Cost

£850 for single en-suite

£750 for single non en-suite

£300 for those staying in their own accommodation or camping (which also includes all food and workshop time).

There are a very limited number of rooms so your first choice may not be possible. The accommodation will be spread between the college and a farmhouse 5 minutes walk from the college.

All meals are included in the cost, some of the evening meals will be in pubs within 20 minutes drive from Westhope and others will be at the farmhouse prepared by groups of participants.  Transport can be provided to all pub meals.  You will be able to give any food preferences/dietary requirements nearer the time if you are successful
