Sarah Beaton graduated from Newark School of Violin Making in 1987.
After leaving Newark she went on to gain experience and practice her restoration and making skills with companies in Toronto and New York. She now works in London at the Royal Academy of Music as a member of it's team of restorers, maintaining a collection of 250 fine stringed instruments and for Sarah Beaton Violins, located in Camberley.
Sarah also has a B.Sc in biomedical communications; the study of art applied to science and medicine which she finds a useful compliment to the art of violin making. The illustrations on Sarah’s website are some of her working studies of important Italian violins.
